Call for Proposals from SHARE

January 17, 2012: The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, through the State Health Access Reform Evaluation (SHARE) National Program, has issued a Call for Proposals to support research on health reform issues, especially as related to state-level implementation of the Affordable Care Act, with a focus on provisions that are designed to increase access and coverage.  Studies funded through this call for proposals will support the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s objective to expand stable and affordable health care coverage by assisting states in their efforts to plan and implement coverage policies based on effective research and policy analysis.  SHARE is located at and receives technical support from SHADAC, an RWJF-funded research center at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health in the Division of Health Policy and Management. 

Application Procedure

 Up to $1.5 million will be awarded through this Call for Proposals, which is open to all qualified applicants.  There is no predetermined dollar amount for individual grants.  Project funding will range from $50,000 to $200,000 to accommodate both quick-turnaround policy analyses of six to 12 months and in-depth research/evaluation studies of 12 to 24 months.  All applicants will be required to submit a full proposal by 3:00 p.m. (EDT) on February 22, 2012.

  • Proposals due – Wednesday, February 22
  • Revised proposals due (if requested) – Friday, April 20
  • Funding decisions made – May 2012
