August 3, 2009. The U.S. Census Bureau released an update to their model-based Small Area Health Insurance Estimates (SAHIE) today. The 2006 SAHIE is a three-year average of health insurance coverage for 2005, 2006, and 2007, based on Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC) data. This release provides state and county-level estimates of uninsurance by age, sex, and <= 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. More information on these estimates is available at the SAHIE web site (http://www.census.gov/did/www/sahie/index.html).
