Giovann Alarcón, MPP
Mr. Alarcón is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. His research interests include access to health care, especially among minorities; the universalization of health insurance; and the effects of publicly funded health insurance schemes on health care and health.
Mr. Alarcón previously worked for Abt Associates Inc., as a Policy Advisor in health economics and financing, and has most recently been evaluating a health insurance initiative for the government of Peru. Past experiences also include advising a publicly funded health insurance program in Peru regarding equity and reform and participating in several research projects in social policy at the Research Center of the Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru.
Mr. Alarcón holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Universidad del Pacífico and a master’s degree in Public Policy at the University of Minnesota.
