Upcoming SHARE Webinar: Using Income Tax Information to Target Medicaid and CHIP Outreach
February 05, 2010:As the federal health reform discussion moves forward, questions about implementing coverage expansions are becoming increasingly significant. One particularly critical question is how to identify the population that will be newly eligible for public programs, like Medicaid, in order to facilitate their enrollment. We can find answers to this question by looking at strategies that have been tested on the ground at the state level.
We invite you to join SHARE as we host a webinar featuring David Idala, Director of Medicaid Policy Studies at The Hilltop Institute at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. David will discuss a strategy for targeting public program outreach that has been tried in several states-namely, the use of income tax information. Specifically, David will talk about the use of this approach to target Medicaid and CHIP outreach in the state of Maryland. David's presentation will be followed by a discussion of Iowa's experience with this strategy in targeting outreach for its CHIP coverage. Ample time will be provided for participants to ask questions.
The webinar will be held on February 24, from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. EST. The event is open to the public, but registration is required.
