Karen Turner came to SHADAC in 2008 and currently serves as a Senior Data Scientist. Her experience includes over 30 years in health survey research. Ms. Turner’s primary focus is conducting data analysis
and data weighting using both SAS and Stata. She also assists with survey data collection. Additionally, Ms. Turner is SHADAC's lead GIS analyst, creating static and dynamic mapping systems relating to health
care access and health policy.
Ms. Turner has spent time in both epidemiology and health services research and policy, building her knowledge of the variety of methodologies used in these areas. She has programmed in a wide array of languages over the years and served as a UNIX system administrator.
Ms. Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota.
