Details
Elliot Walsh, BA/BS joined SHADAC in 2023 as a Research Dissemination Coordinator with over eight years of experience in web content, writing, and editing experience. He is responsible for both editing and writing various communications for SHADAC, from blog posts and issue briefs to newsletters and social media post, as well as the dissemination of information & content across platforms.
Along with editing support, he has also authored a number of products for SHADAC, including implementing a series of "Basics Blogs" to make health policy and public health information understandable for wide audiences. He is also a key member of the communications team working to ensure web accessibility protocols are implemented sitewide, which has included learning about updated guidelines, performing site & content audits, updates to web pages and products, and the creation of written accessibility protocols. He also supports website maintenance, including leading a major website upgrade project, site edits and updates, and implementation of accessibility guidelines and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.
Before coming to SHADAC, Elliot graduated from the University of Rochester with a BA in English Literature and a BS in Cell & Developmental Biology. Using both sides of his background, Elliot has worked in roles in a number of industries, including marketing, scientific communications, and health care. He has particular interest in health & health care literacy, making complex scientific & technical topics accessible to wide audiences.
