Dr. Tyler Winkelman, MD, MSc is Co-Director of the Health, Homelessness, and Criminal Justice Lab and Director of the Research and Evaluation Data Analytics Core at the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute, as well as serving as the Division Director of General Internal Medicine and as a practicing general internist at Hennepin Healthcare.
Dr. Winkelman studies issues at the intersection of criminal justice and health, with particular interest in Medicaid, substance use disorders, and health care utilization. Dr. Winkelman was also co-founder and inaugural President of the Minnesota Electronic Health Record Consortium. He completed his medical school and residency training at the UMN Medical School and earned a master of science degree in health and health care research at the University of Michigan.
