Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are intensely stressful or traumatic experiences in childhood linked to both short- and long-term health effects. SHADAC researchers have been working to understand ACEs and their effects on children and adults for years, using survey and other data to explore their impact.
Senior Research Fellow Colin Planalp presented his research on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and their pernicious role in undermining the health of both children and adults in SHADAC’s free webinar on April 24th, titled, “Kids Aren’t Alright: Adverse Childhood Experiences and Opportunities to Forge a Healthier Future.”
During this webinar, Mr. Planalp presented data on the prevalence of ACEs across the states and different demographic sub-populations; he also described strategies to mitigate the harm of ACEs as an approach to enhancing health and wellbeing.
