In response to concerns regarding the future of federal data infrastructure, collection, and quality, SHADAC launched the State Solutions for Health Data Continuity Project.
Supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, this project aims to study and develop practical options for filling health data gaps. One of the biggest takeaways from this project's initial scans and interviews with stakeholders was the near-universal desire for the creation and facilitation of action-oriented workgroup convenings.
We are developing workgroups for data professionals to connect, strategize, and share knowledge related to filling critical health data gaps with skilled facilitation from SHADAC’s experts. These forums of interested and invited participants will center around a specific topic, strategy, or health domain, with workgroups identifying data concerns and technical barriers, mapping out fixes, and working to standardize or align solutions across states, where appropriate.
We want your feedback to inform and shape these workgroups, so that topics covered are both actionable and relevant to data professionals’ needs as they work to navigate emerging federal data gaps and challenges. We are holding a virtual meeting to inform the development of these workgroups and gather this essential feedback.
At this meeting, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn more about ideas for filling federal data gaps
- Provide feedback on proposed workgroup topics
- Ask questions about the project, workgroups, etc.
- Indicate interest in joining a workgroup
- Access information on receiving technical assistance

Do you know a data professional who would be interested in this virtual meeting? Think someone in your network could benefit from providing feedback on or participating in these state health data workgroups? Feel free to share this event with your network of data professionals and state data users!
